Changes to My Site + the Panda Book
I've made a few changes to the site this morning on this wonderful SNOW DAY! First, I added a "subscribe to this blog" feature. I also changed the order in which my side bar items appear, and added a "recent comments" section. Let me know if you have any problems with these new features. They should make life easier for my few but faithful readers.
I'm thinking about punctuation a lot lately. One of my favorite nerd books is "Eats, Shoots & Leaves," which deals a lot with the rules of punctuation and how people break them. It was so fun the first time, I might need a refresher course soon.

Looks great so far. I like to be able to see "recent comments."
And I would like to read that book. Have heard much about it, but have never read it. Hey, I got an Amazon gift certificate for Christmas! :)
"Eats, Shoots & Leaves" sounds like a book about the dining habits of Mafia hitmen.
I think James and I need to read that book!
j-dog, your comment cracked me up!
My brother tells me that the first printing of that book was chcok full of grammar and punctuation errors.
Can you say oops?
Cool, I like the comment hack. You got skillz.
Here's a puctuation question for you. Does the period go after the end quotation mark or not? For instance:
"here is a quote".
or
"here is a quote".
How 'bout, "Here is a quote."
I think that's the proper way to say it. Correct me if I'm wrong, fellow-punctuation-geeks!
Oops, yeah I meant that as the second choice.
J-Dog, the book IS about mafia hitmen... in a way. I'll leave you with that intriguing thought.
So what are pandas doing running around with firearms? I thought they were docile.
Checked out the forward on the Amazon site. The author sounds a BIT bossy. Just a bit. Inappropriate apostrophe's are annoying, though.
James and I need to read that book.
But hey, bossy is okay with me when it concerns incorrect punctuation. Some things in this world just can not be tolerated! :-)
Jules, I should give you my copy to read!
I am sure it would help me. I've been a stay-at-home mom so long that I've lost some skills. I have gained a lot of new skills like patience, endurance, putting others before myself, and butt wiping, but other things have slipped!
Geesh Sarah, I am such an airhead! I just realized I left the same comment twice. It's a wonder how I survive. What's even scarier, I have four children who depend on me. Yikes!
Ha! No sweat, Jules... I just assumed that you really-really-really wanted to read the book!
